Leah Melnik has joined the College of Environment and Design as the Graduate Program Administrator for the Landscape Architecture, Historic Preservation and Urban Planning and Design programs.

Jon Williams (BLA '96), CEO and President of W&A Engineering, was recently appointed to the Georgia Board of Landscape Architects by Governor Brian Kemp. According to the press release, the Board is authorized to "adopt rules, set standards for licensure, adopt mandatory standards of professional conduct, and investigate and discipline unauthorized, negligent or incompetent practice." In addition, the Board also licenses landscape architects, after applicants complete their education and pass a national and state exam.
The 2021 Croatia Maymester program will utilize an interdisciplinary approach to exploring heritage built around the intersection of archaeology and historic preservation. Courses will be taught by UGA faculty from the Franklin College Classics Department and the College of Environment and Design.
Professor and former dean Jack Crowley will retire at the end of this semester after nearly three decades at the College of Environment and Design. He began as an assistant professor in 1974 and has since left his mark on thousands of landscape architects, planners and preservationists.
