HIPR6025: Preservation Perspectives Field Study
Alternating between Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC, all MHP students and faculty hit the road each spring to experience preservation in action. This 3-day field study provides the opportunity to meet practicing preservationists in the private, public, and non-profit realms and learn from their unique experiences.

In Spring 2018, students led by Dr. Wayde Brown had a packed schedule as they toured revolving fund projects with Historic Savannah Foundation; Georgia's oldest lighthouse on Tybee Island; Fort Pulaski National Monument; the Owens-Thomas House; Wormsloe Plantation State Historic Site; Kehoe Ironworks adaptive reuse project; and sites significant to African American history with Day Clean Journeys.
The Spring 2019 Field Study will be led by Dr. Scott Nesbit to Charleston, SC, with programming focused on how the Holy City is grappling with flooding and climate change.
