Fanglan Chen, an alumna of the Master of Historic Preservation Program, was recently named a finalist for the Murtagh Graham Prize awarded by the US National Committee of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).  The award, named to honor William R. Murtagh, Ph.D., and Roy Eugene Graham for their many contributions to preservation education and cultural heritage stewardship, recognizes outstanding student scholarship in the area of historic preservation technologies.

MHP professor Wayde Brown served on the prize committee.  MHP Program Coordinator James Reap served as co-chair of the competition alongside Jeff Eley of SCAD.

Since finishing her MHP at UGA, Chen has started working towards a master’s degree in planning from Virginia Tech.
