Circle Gallery opening reception Thursday, Nov. 7th at 4:30 p.m.

As part of our ongoing 50th Anniversary Celebration of the CED, the Circle Gallery exhibit, Snapshots unveils its third installment in the rotating portion of the exhibit. Landscapes of Care is the theme and features nine sites our students and faculty have worked on in the past. They include the Oconee Rivers Greenway, the Healing Garden at Piedmont Regional Hospital in Athens, the Sautee-Nacoochee Valleys in White County, Ga., Downtown Athens, Tanyard Branch, the Founders Memorial Garden, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherokee Trail of Tears, and Jekyll Island.

In addition to the display of the work on these important sites, there is an interactive component that is tied to the CED Charter endeavor, which is being devised this year. This portion of the display challenges viewers to think about the CED and its role in the 21st century. Expressions of Care will portray a timeline giving the viewer a context to reflect on the question: What do you think should be included in the CED Charter/Manifesto/Statement of Concern?

Are you a historic preservationist? A landscape architect? An urban planner? What do YOU care about? Come by, enjoy refreshment and discourse. Everyone welcome!
