Charrette Led By Center For Community Design & Preservation Featured In Columns

The Center for Community Design & Preservation (CCDP) is working with the City of Winterville, Georgia this semester. Recently the CCDP led a charrette in Winterville, with students in the service-learning Community Design Charrettes class leading discussions and work-sessions with local residents.

Columns: The Online Newspaper for the University of Georgia Community, featured the charrette in this week’s issue, describing the process and some initial findings, as well as including several student perspectives on the value that service-learning projects bring to their education in the CED, as well as to the communities that CCDP assists.

“I’m blown away by how intensely they’re working and how public this process is,” [Winterville Mayor] Ferrelle said, “There are some things that I’m hoping they bring to us that we can put into place and adopt.”
