Once again the College of Environment and Design has been ranked among the top ten schools of landscape architecture in the U.S. by DesignIntelligence Quarterly. The ratings, which were just announced, place the CED BLA program at fifth and the MLA program at ninth in the nation. The ratings are determined by surveys of professionals in the field.

Each year DesignIntelligence conducts the America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools survey, which ranks undergraduate and graduate programs from the perspective of professional practitioners who hire and supervise graduates of architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design programs. The 17th annual survey was conducted between May 8, 2016 and July 14, 2016.

In addition to the undergraduate and graduate school rankings by professionals, deans and chairs from 145 academic programs participated in surveys to rank college programs. In that category, UGA CED was ranked third in the nation.

“Being rated #3 in the nation by our colleagues in academia means a lot to us because this is the assessment by our peers in higher education,” says Dean Dan Nadenicek. According to the DesignIntelligence editors, UGA’s CED is commended for “its emphasis on integrating design, sustainability, and technology.”

These rankings are especially useful to students from abroad and outside the state of Georgia and have factored in their decision to attend CED. We encourage alumni practitioners to keep their alma mater in mind when the survey goes out each spring and we are grateful for the continued support.
