Biographical Information

Dr. Rosanna Rivero is a Fulbright scholar with a career in urban and environmental planning that started in her home country, Venezuela. The focus of her research in the last 15 years has been on the use of geospatial technologies for environmental and land use planning. Her most important advances and achievements have been: 1. Her research in South Florida, particularly in areas related to Everglades restoration, 2. Her research on geospatial applications to environmental and regional planning, and the novel area of Geodesign, and 3. Her research on resilience and natural hazards in Coastal Georgia, through the integration of research, public service, and teaching. Accomplishments and success in these areas of research (in some cases integrating some of these topics) have been published in high profile international journals, highlighted in several media (press releases, online articles, videos), as well as presented in international conferences.
