In an announcement on April 17, University of Georgia administration set a date for the delayed spring commencement brought on by complications surrounding the coronavirus. Undergraduate commencement, originally scheduled for May 8, has been scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. in Sanford Stadium.
Graduate commencement ceremonies will take place Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. in Stegman Coliseum, alongside the regularly scheduled fall 2020 graduate Commencement.
UGA’s announcement made special note that these dates are still tentative. If, by October and December, health officials have given the go-ahead, replacement commencement ceremonies will take place as planned.
As for CED graduates, faculty and staff are in talks to hold a virtual convocation in the coming weeks. When a decision has been made and plans set, an announcement will be broadcast via social media, email, and this website.
