The UGA Alumni Association has unveiled the 2021 Bulldog 100

The UGA Alumni Association has unveiled the 2021 Bulldog 100, a list of the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by UGA alumni in over two dozen industries. This year, three College of Environment and Design alumni have had their businesses recognized for their achievements.

Backyard Escape, Inc. is a full-service custom design-build company owned by Charlie Button (BLA ‘10). Based in Atlanta, they specialize in pool design, unique garden landscapes, and designer stone patios.

Smith Planning Group is a land planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture and land surveying firm founded in 1989 in Athens by Bob Smith (BLA ‘87). Their mission is to create beautiful places of lasting value for the communities they serve and has a reputation for outstanding design and community involvement.

W&A Engineering, founded by Jon Williams (BLA ‘96), is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary engineering firm headquartered in Athens with branch offices in Monroe and Augusta, Georgia as well as Nashville, Tennessee. They provide on-call economic development services to communities, have project experience in more than 45 states, and continue to expand and forge partnerships in the most dynamic cities.

We are proud that alumni from the College of Environment and Design have been recognized on the Bulldog 100 for eight years in a row. Congratulations to Charlie, Bob, Jon and your employees (many of whom are also CED alums!) on this terrific recognition of your work and accomplishments.
