SHPO Volunteers at State Park

The Student Historic Preservation Organization (SHPO) volunteered on Saturday, September 24th at the Watson Mill Bridge State Park in Comer, GA. Members canoed to pick up trash and washed picnic tables as part of a clean up day sponsored by Friends of Watson Mill Bridge State Park. In addition to volunteering, SHPO members were able to explore many of the park’s features including the South Fork River, the historic bridge dating to 1885, and some of the trails. All volunteers were treated to a catered lunch from Mama’s Boy and the opportunity to win door prizes. It was an overall successful day in beautifying a Georgia State Park.
