Certificate in Native American Studies
The Institute of Native American Studies at the University of Georgia is one of the leading programs in Indigenous studies in the country and the premier program in the American South. We are a vibrant community of two dozen scholars, including six Native faculty, in addition to our graduate and undergraduate students. Each year, we bring prominent figures in Native American and Indigenous studies and in the Indigenous Americas, representing a wide variety of endeavors, to campus to speak. INAS supports the research of its faculty and graduate students, and we partner with tribal nations and other community organizations on a variety of significant research and service projects. INAS offers both an undergraduate and a graduate certificate in Native American Studies. In addition, it has four specialized tracks in historic preservation, landscape architecture, public health, and Indigenous Latin America.
