Sonia Hirt, who will begin serving as the new dean to the College of Environment and Design in July 2018 has just been named a Fellow by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), which is the professional institute of the American Planning Association.
Election to Fellow is one of the highest honors that the American Institute of Certified Planners bestows upon a member. Fellowship is granted to planners who have been members of AICP and have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public and community service, and leadership. Those chosen become members of the College of Fellows. The Class of 2018 induction ceremony will occur during the National Planning Conference in New Orleans in April.
