In spring 2020, MUPD students Saba Serkhel and Brett Conn approached the CED student group Lettus Collective with a project idea of their own — a podcast to address contemporary issues of urban planning, landscape architecture and historic preservation called, “Lettus Talk”.
The podcast landscape has developed significantly over the last few years, covering everything from fictional stories to academic debates.
With Lettus Collective’s goal to grow student-led efforts into underexplored, overlooked and censored topics in their disciplines, a podcast was the perfect medium.
Saba and Brett spent the summer developing the podcast’s scope and sound and began recording episodes. Their goal was to deliver well-researched, fast-paced and inquisitive episodes, such as pandemic planning, affordable housing, and vertical gardening.
The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple and Google podcasts. Lettus Talk launches episodes on Wednesdays. Additional information on past and upcoming episodes are available on the Lettus Website.
