Dr. Donggyu Lee is an Assistant Professor in Urban Planning and Design at the University of Georgia. His research focuses on community(-engaged) design and the organizations that provide community design-related services. His primary areas of research include: 1. Community-engaged design and the engagement strategies developed by architects, urban designers, and planners; 2. Arts, culture, and creative placemaking as tools for community development and public participation; and 3. Environmental planning, with an emphasis on community-based approaches to hazard mitigation. His research integrates perspectives from architecture, urban design, and urban planning to address complex urban challenges through collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches.
