LAND 6620: EVOLUTION OF AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE

This course explores the history of American architecture, consisting of identification of major buildings, architects, architectural movements, and important social influence on these movements. Students will be able to identify buildings by style and period. A semester-long research paper should demonstrate the student’s ability to do research in the field of American architectural history and to competently write a substantive text that includes architectural description and analysis, as well as footnotes and bibliography showing knowledge of published scholarly sources.
