Dean Sonia Hirt signs contract for her fifth book
Dean Sonia Hirt has signed a new book contract with Routledge--a highly respected multinational publisher, founded in Great Britain in 1836 by George Routledge. The press focuses on academic books and journals in the humanities, education, law, and the social sciences.

Welcome back! Fall 2021 promises to be the most exciting semester in many years at UGA's College of Environment + Design. The return of students to campus has brought new life to the University of Georgia, and many lessons were learned during the pandemic--this year, we value our students more than ever, and our faculty are grateful to resume in-person classroom instruction.

Dean Sonia Hirt Lectures at MIT
Dean Sonia Hirt recently joined an Urban Design class at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to give a presentation on the 60th anniversary of Jane Jacobs' "The Death and Life of Great American Cities"--one of the most influential texts on urbanism written during the 20th century.
