Biographical Information

Hi everyone! My name is Brittany Thompson, and I am going into my second year in the Landscape Architecture program at the University of Georgia. Going into college, I always wanted to major in architecture. Prior to becoming a Bulldawg, I was an Eagle at Georgia Southern University where I majored in civil engineering for 2 years. I decided to major in civil engineering because Georgia Southern didn’t offer architecture and civil engineering was the closest major I could find to architecture. After transferring to UGA, I tried to continue majoring in civil engineering but I was tired of not having any interest in the material so I started looking into other majors. While researching, I learned UGA offered landscape architecture and I instantly became interested in learning more about the major. I talked to David Spooner, sat in on one of Professor Cramer’s design studio classes, got a tour of the CED building and immediately fell in love with the major. I am so happy with my decision to join the Landscape Architecture program, and I am excited to see where this program takes me in the future.
